History:
The Burlington County Prison was the oldest prison in
continuous use in the United States, having been open for over
150 years. It was designed by architect Robert Mills who also
designed the Washington Monument. Many prisons built after the
Burlington County Prison were modeled after Mills functional
design. The prison was in operation up until the mid-1960's.
Activity Reported:
Previous
investigations of this old prison by other research groups have yielded a
high amount of spiritual activity including positive photos and EVP's.
Researchers have heard cell doors slamming shut on their own, and two
researchers were physically pushed by unseen hands.
Investigation Summation:
This was a joint investigation organized by our sister group
South Jersey Paranormal
Research, who had
previously
investigated this old prison once before. Mike Hrycyk,
who routinely works jointly with both groups as an investigator,
represented NJPR for this investigation. While Mike initially felt
that the evening was uneventful and quiet, his review of his evidence
afterwards proved that it was a very active investigation. Mike
collected an unusually high number of EVP's as well as several video
events.

Note: Most
researchers do not consider orb photos as evidence of paranormal activity as
airborne particles such as dust, pollen and moisture can cause "false
positive". While we agree that most "orbs" can be explained naturally,
we have found in our research that a small percentage seem to correlate to
paranormal activity. Therefore, we will post orb photos that we feel
may represent paranormal activity, although we can not prove beyond a shadow
of a doubt that this is the case.
