Activity Reported: This ranch-style home was built in the 1940's and had only one previous owner. The current owners have lived in the house for 16 years and have not experienced any paranormal activity until the month prior to our investigation when they began to see the apparition of an old woman. They also experienced moving objects and the sound of footsteps. The activity continued for a three week period, then seemed to taper off. During our research we discovered the wife of the former owner was still alive, but in hospice care. It's interesting to note that during the exact time period when the current owners began experiencing activity the former owner had slipped into a coma and was near death. After a three-week period her health began to improve which was the same time the activity began to diminish. It is not currently known for certain if the apparition witnessed by the current homeowners matches the former owner, but it is a striking coincidence. NJPR will continue to research the background on this case to see if we can find further historical evidence.
Investigation Summation: Based on the above activity reported we were not expecting this to be an active investigation. However our assumptions were proven wrong when the team began to experience activity almost immediately. We heard raps, taps and footsteps while in the living room that we could not account for that were captured on audio. The house did not appear to be settling, and everyone was accounted for. Yet the raps seemed to directly respond to questions that were asked out loud. One investigator begin to receive impressions of an older woman named "Margaret" throughout the evening, although to date we have not been able to validate this name with the home's known history. During this time we captured strange shadows and darkness that seemed to envelop the team and effect some of our flash photography. A visiting film maker also attended the investigation and noticed how the room appeared to grow darker at one point. He also heard what sounded like scuffling feet through his sensitive camera microphone when no one was moving about. At this same time we measured a temperature drop of 18 degrees along with an EMF spike of 1.1 milligaus. Upon reviewing our evidence later we discovered that we had captured a large amount of EVP's of both a man and a woman's voice. There were no women present during this investigation.

previous photo, the camera is positioned at a higher angle, yet the
shadow remains covering Mark's upper body and the rest of the room.
A cold spot and EMF spike were also measure in this area at this exact
moment. |

A thermal image of Darren as a
cold spot is felt near his left hand. While the cold spot did not seem
to register on the thermal camera, a separate thermometer measured the
temperature drop.
