EVP - Electronic Voice Phenomena
EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomenon) are the recordings of disembodied voices captured using digital and analog recording devices. In most cases these voices are not heard at the time of recording but rather at the time the recording is played back. However, occasionally they can be heard by the researchers present. It is not certain whether spirits imprint their voices onto the tape or the recorder is recording what the ear cannot hear.

This is an instance where an answer to a question is captured before the question can be asked. A male spirit seems to say the name, "Hugh," which is then followed by the client asking to know the spirit's name. We have encountered this many times in our research. When the client asks for the spirit to make a tapping sound there is a brief silence, followed by a faint whisper of a male's voice saying "Not me." Here is a edited and filtered version of the EVP. |

While recording audio in the living room we captured what sounds like furniture being moved around, and immediately afterwards what sounds like a child's laughter. Everyone in the house was still during this period and there were no children in the house. |
A loud whistling was heard by everyone present. It sounds like the beginning of a tune. We confirmed that no one present whistled. |

A male voice was recorded that sounds like a foreign language (perhaps Native American). |

A client was speaking to a friend present about the West Coast, and under her voice a child's voice can be heard saying something about a "car". We are unable to decipher the rest of the sentence, but it is clearly a child's voice. There are no children living at this residence. |
A man's voice is captured in an empty master bedroom saying, "Jack". All investigators were accounted for and the room was empty at the time this was recorded. There was also no other sounds in the room for several minutes before and after this voice was captured. The client has confirmed that the voice belongs to her father who passed away a few years ago, and his name was Jack. |

During a recent investigation two separate audio recorders captured our investigators talking in the background when an highly unusual EVP is captured that sounds like a hiss, sigh and groan. The groan in particular is unlike anything we have encountered before and sounds like an animal of some sort. There were no animals in the house. |

Recorded on the second floor of a residence, a man's voice seems to say "Shut the....up" and is interrupted by a loud bang. This is quickly followed by researcher Mike M. returning to the room and announcing his presence by saying, "I'm back. We're back". |

During a preliminary investigation of a circa 1850's farmhouse in Chester, the client was giving us a tour of one of the rooms. We were videotaping at the time, and when we played the tape back later we captured something quite unusual. In this recording you can hear the client responding to a question asked him by saying, "No problem, no problem. And that's why I never use this room." Immediately after the first "no problem" you can hear what sounds like a woman sobbing quite loudly. Everyone in the room was accounted for in the video and could not have made this sound. Another investigator was standing nearby with an analogue tape recorder running which also captured the sobbing. |
During the above preliminary investigation we were in another room of the house while the client was explaining his experiences while we were recording with both audio and digital video. On the audio portion we picked up this extraordinary evp. First you will hear what sounds like a young baby fussing, and then a woman's voice chimes in saying, "Be still". Immediately afterwards another woman's voice can be heard saying, "Can you tell...?" |

This EVP was recorded on videotape during an investigation of a home in northern New Jersey. There were several investigators having a normal conversation. Immediately underneath them can be heard a female child's voice mumbling. Her words are unintelligible at first, but then you can make out the word "careful". |
This EVP was recorded just a few seconds after the above "careful" EVP. Again, you can hear several of our investigators talking when more whispering can be heard in the background. Then an older child's voice which says, "Jackie, can you hear me?" There was no one named Jackie in the house that evening. |
